If you have a huge magazine stack collecting under the bed, there are many ways to finally get some use out of it. I favor cutting out letters in various colors and sizes and putting them together to spell out aphorisms and quotations. You can cut out letters from the cover page, different ads, and article titles.
If you have any old magazines laying around you may find ideas or pictures and graphic designs to make a collage or scrapbook. I have developed the habit of decorating my scrapbooks with pages from fashion spreads to serve as the background. They have just a little bit of writing on them, or none at all, and you can count on them to be very thematic. If they do have some writing, you can always cover it up with a picture or other design.
A real good idea is to use search engines to find graphics when scrap-booking. When starting a scrapbook you can search online for ideas and themes such as "It’s a Girl" or "Baby Girl" I was able to locate so many great things, and I really saved as well.
Simply run a search through various search engines by using their image tools for any terms that have to do with the project that you are working on. You’ll find plenty of results which you can print out and use in your projects. I’d suggest you only use these graphics for personal purposes though, since some may have copyrights on them. This should not be an issue at all if they are employed only for your own personal crafts.
For just a few cents per page, you can print items at your local library. Finding graphics by using alternative sources is much less expensive than getting decals and stickers from hobby shops or art supply stores.
Have you got the glue? It is a hardly known fact that if you don’t have a glue, you might make some! While working on your project, decide how much glue is necessary and mix flour and water in equal measures. Until it turns into a pasty substance keep mixing it.
This type of homemade glue should be used immediately after mixing, otherwise it will become moldy if left out. After it is used, it is good to left out to dry completely for paper projects.
You can always add glitter to your paint or glue for an added touch.
