You probably have a pile of magazines accumulating somewhere in the house, and now there are lots of ways you can make some use of them. A technique I love is to cut out different sized and colored letters and make sayings or quotes. To get a cool retro feel, you can cut out letters from the cover page, different ads, and article titles and combine them all .
For incorporating into collages, scrapbooks, or any other visual project using cute pictures and graphic designs you can also look through old magazines. The pages from fashion spreads as the wallpaper for my scrapbooks, which I like. They have little to no writing on them since they are always really themed. Unwanted writing can easily be covered with a picture or other design.
A real good idea is to use search engines to find graphics when scrap-booking. When starting a scrapbook you can search online for ideas and themes such as "It’s a Girl" or "Baby Girl" Not only did I find a lot of cute stuff, I also saved a ton of money!
If you take the time to do different searches on your search engine you can find some designs or ideas for your project. You can get plenty of ideas and materials to use if you print them out. Be careful! Some images may have copyrights on them, so I suggest only using these graphics for personal purposes. As long as you use them for your individual crafts, this shouldn’t be an issue.
The lack of a printer should not stop you as they are readily available for your use at your local library or school for a small fee. Buying stickers and designs from art supply stores is costlier.
Have you got the glue? It is a hardly known fact that if you don’t have a glue, you might make some! Once you figure out how much glue you will need, mix together one part flour to one part water. Once you’ve reached the consistency of a paste, you can quit mixing it up.
You should use the glue immediately after you finish making it because if you leave it out, it will become moldy. This must be left to dry totally after it is used; it is very good to use for any kind of paper project.
You can always add glitter for a nice touch even if you do have glue and use it as paint to decorate stuff.
