That huge magazine stack that’s been collecting under your bed can be used in many ways. One of my favorite pastimes is making sayings or quotations by cutting out letters of many different sizes and hues. Letters can be cut off the cover page, various advertisements and article titles. Mix them all together to establish a nice retro feel.
Cute pictures and designs to use in visual projects may be in old magazines. I also like to use the pages from fashion spreads as background pages for my scrapbooks. These universally possess strong themes, with hardly any (or no) writing. Unwanted writing can easily be covered with a picture or other design.
A really good idea when scrap-booking is to use Search Engines to find graphics. When starting a scrapbook you can search online for ideas and themes such as "It’s a Girl" or "Baby Girl" By using alternative sources, I found a good many appropriate things and saved money as well.
To get the terms related to the project you are doing, Search for different search engines images tool. You will discover a lot of information that applies to your projects and you can print it out. Be careful! Some images may have copyrights on them, so I suggest only using these graphics for personal purposes. If it is for your own personal use it should not be an issue.
If you attend for a couple cents a sheet, you can print them out at your local library or school if you don’t have a printer. You can purchase stickers and various designs from supply stores but there are much cheaper ways.
Got Glue? It’s a little known fact that if you’ve got no glue, you can make some! Mix an equal amount of flour and water, depending on how much glue you need. Once you’ve reached the consistency of a paste, you can quit mixing it up.
This type of homemade glue should be used immediately after mixing, otherwise it will become moldy if left out. It’s good for paper projects and should be left out to dry completely after it’s used.
You can always add glitter to your paint or glue for an added touch.
You will find a selection of great specials on slightly used Home Décor & Accents: Baskets:
