If you have a large collection of periodicals that have been piling up around your house, there are a variety of different ways to put them to good use. I really enjoy the method of cutting out various colors and sizes of letters to make quotes or sayings. Check the front and back covers, as well as the ads and titles of articles. When you put all these together, you have a unique design with a retro look.
For incorporating into collages, scrapbooks, or any other visual project using cute pictures and graphic designs you can also look through old magazines. Another good idea is to use for backgrounds in a scrapbook is pages from a fashion spread magazine. These universally possess strong themes, with hardly any (or no) writing. Cut out a figure from a magazine and use it to hide any writing that shows.
When creating your scrap books, you can use internet search engines to find appropriate graphics to include. When starting a scrapbook you can search online for ideas and themes such as "It’s a Girl" or "Baby Girl" I found a lot of cute stuff and saved!
Using a search engine’s images page can help you find terms that you need for a project that you are working on. Plenty of results which you can print out and use in your projects will be found by you. Be careful! Some images may have copyrights on them, so I suggest only using these graphics for personal purposes. This should not be an issue at all if they are employed only for your own personal crafts.
Your local library can be a good, low cost way to print these out if you don’t have a printer of your own at home. You can purchase stickers and various designs from supply stores but there are much cheaper ways.
Most people do not know that you can make your own glue instead of buying it from the store. Based on the amount of glue required, combine equal parts flour plus water. A pasty substance is the ultimate goal; mix it up until it gets to this consistency.
Don’t make the glue until you are ready to use it because it will get moldy if left to sit. After it is used, it is good to left out to dry completely for paper projects.
You can always add glitter for a nice touch even if you do have glue and use it as paint to decorate stuff.
