You have a lot of different options for making use of the growing pile of periodicals that you have been routinely stashing below your mattress. Try making quotations or maxims out of letters that you’ve cut from magazines in different sizes, colors and fonts. For a nifty, retro feel, use a magazine, including the cover, article titles and advertisements, as a source for letters and words in different sizes, fonts and colors.
If you have any old magazines laying around you may find ideas or pictures and graphic designs to make a collage or scrapbook. Another good idea is to use for backgrounds in a scrapbook is pages from a fashion spread magazine. These universally possess strong themes, with hardly any (or no) writing. In case they happen to have some writing to show, the same can always be wrapped up in the garb of either a depiction or drawing pattern.
A real good idea is to use search engines to find graphics when scrap-booking. For example, when I started my daughter’s scrapbook, I searched Google images for terms like "baby girl", "it’s a girl", and etc. By using alternative sources, I found a good many appropriate things and saved money as well.
Using a search engine’s images page can help you find terms that you need for a project that you are working on. You’ll find plenty of results which you can print out and use in your projects. I’d suggest you only use these graphics for personal purposes though, since some may have copyrights on them. Till they are used within your crafts which are personal, that will not be a problem.
If you don’t have a printer, you can print them out at your local library or school if you attend for a couple cents a sheet. Buying stickers and designs from art supply stores is costlier.
Don’t worry if you don’t have any glue on hand you can always make some. Mix an equal amount of flour and water, depending on how much glue you need. Until it turns into a pasty substance keep mixing it.
You should use the glue immediately after you finish making it because if you leave it out, it will become moldy. After it is used, it is good to left out to dry completely for paper projects.
For a nice touch, add glitter to your glue and use it as paint for decorating items in your scrapbook.
